“Our existing system was old, and the maintenance work that we had to put into it was significant,” Mr Beaumont said. “We also couldn’t guarantee the same sort of uptime that Reliance was happy to write into the SLA for a cloud-based solution.”

The challenge that Getinge Australia Pty Ltd was facing was that the company didn’t have a datacentre environment for the operational side of the business, Mr Beaumont said. Consequently, hosting a PABX system meant having to accommodate for environmental issues, dealing with the telco, and maintenance on the system was escalating over time.

“Being a medtech company, we are heavily reliant on our telephony, and have customer calls come in at all hours – including out of hours – so the phone system uptime guarantee of 99.75 per cent allowed out IT and maintenance teams to be comfortable with the communications system.”
